Sleet so far: Wednesday notes

Couple of quick hits from this morning, as we’ve got early deadlines and I’ve got to try to put this into words (“awesome” came up a lot)…

–Same cast as yesterday for Bridgeport. Dal Colle on St. Denis and Bernier’s left wing. Bourque and Stevens with Ho-Sang. A few different looks on the power play.

–Same cast, including the three absences. Stephen Gionta still termed week-to-week. Scott Eansor still termed day-to-day, but he won’t make the trip tomorrow to Syracuse (where they’re planning to skate after the bus ride). Parker Wotherspoon will travel; Brent Thompson seemed to be targeting Sunday more than Friday for him.

–Practice stopped briefly, early, and it was hard to hear from up top (really, not joking), but it sounded like Thompson invited them to wake up.

–The Islanders announced they’ve signed Otto Koivula to his entry-level contract. The Finnish forward was a fourth-round pick, 120th overall, in 2016. Word is no ATO for this year.

–Barn’s nearly ready for the NCAAs. Open practices tomorrow begin at 11:30 with Notre Dame, followed by Michigan Tech (12:45), Providence (2) and Clarkson (3:15).

And RIP, Larry Kwong.
