The newsiest bit to come out of today is probably that Kristers Gudlevskis is hopeful of making the Latvian national team for the upcoming World Championship. (Meanwhile, after I joked about how we’ll call Anthony Beauvillier an ex-Sound Tiger like we talk about former Sound Tiger Josh Bailey… former Sound Tiger Josh Bailey is going to Worlds.)
Other newsy bit (unless you didn’t see yesterday that Kellen Jones and Josh Holmstrom went down to Worcester, in which case, um, Kellen Jones and Josh Holmstrom went down to Worcester): Both Pat Cullity and Kane Lafranchise said retirement is an option. Lafranchise was hampered down the stretch by a knee issue that kept him out a few times. No final decision for either one.
Otherwise, lots of talk about the disappointment of missing the playoffs. They thought they’d be dangerous if they found a way in. No such luck.
Sylvain Lefebvre won’t be back in Laval. Reportedly the same for Eric Veilleux with the Avalanche organization.

It’s the 20th anniversary of Hartford’s seven-goal period in Game 1 against New Haven, which means it’s the eighth anniversary of Hershey’s six-goal period in Game 3 against Bridgeport. (Eight years ago, I did not know I was only 15 months or so away from getting better acquainted with the guy who assisted on the game-winner 20 years ago…)
