Jeremy Colliton, you guys: Friday notes

The Rumored Conference Final is set. Rockford finished off the sweep with a handy 6-3 win over Manitoba, improving to 7-0 on the postseason, knocking off Chicago and the Moose, who were at times two of the hottest teams in the AHL. So Jeremy Colliton is off to the conference final in his first season as a North American coach.

The IceHogs draw Texas, which finished off a five-game series win over Tucson with an overtime win. Joel L’Esperance scored the winner after he assisted on Colin Markison’s second of the playoffs in the first period.

Lehigh Valley aims to finish off the Checkers in Charlotte on Saturday night.

Over in Denmark, the U.S. had a tough one against Korea. Two goals for Cam Atkinson, couple of points for Tage Thompson, a goal for Anders Lee. They can clinch a quarterfinal spot on Sunday. (It’s possible there’s a mathematical clinching path on Saturday that I’m missing in the Germany-Latvia game. Farmington’s Nick Bonino fills out the American roster.
