The Islanders prospect at center was probably going to need a little seasoning, would start at Bridgeport and proceed from there. Then Mathew Barzal played pretty well in camp, and there went that idea. It went all the way to Vegas tonight and the Calder Trophy for Barzal, nearly unanimous except for someone who recognized the greatness of Yanni Gourde (and a few others).
On to the draft, with business for the Islanders to tend to.
