Gibson up: Tuesday notes

So it’s been a… few days. Catching up with the news of the moment (not the news of the other day, which was the end of the long regional nightmare, presumably because I wasn’t watching, complete with making it difficult on themselves): The Islanders called up Christopher Gibson this morning, with Robin Lehner apparently out tonight. Presumably if Gibson has to stay up, the Sound Tigers can call on the reigning ECHL goalie of the week for tomorrow’s game against Hartford.

The Isles sent Stephen Gionta down to make room for Gibson. Not many other moves they can make at this point.

Wasn’t there this morning, but told Steve Bernier (ill Sunday), Devon Toews (upper) and Connor Jones (ankle and who knows what else) were all on the ice this morning, and so was Chris Terreri again.

If you were wondering why Saturday is a 3 p.m. start, Jason Iacona notes the answer. If you were wondering why that’s Bridgeport’s only game this weekend, you’re not alone, but these things happen sometimes.

There’s a 32nd NHL team:

That is a lot of teddy bears.

RIP, Ken Berry.

And a tip of the cap to Sound Tigers social-media dude Mike Ianniello, departing for Allentown.

More tomorrow, I’m pretty sure.
