Road game: Bridgeport at Providence

Since we won’t be liveblogging anymore more often than not (Podcasts!), maybe a simplified template here:

  • Who, when, whatever: Bridgeport at Providence, The Dunk, Friday, 7 p.m.
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / the Bruins / Mark Divver
  • Box score Yes. (R: K.Anderson, Dunning; L: Brennan, J.Millea)
  • Storyline: Bridgeport isn’t scoring, so much. Providence has lost three in a row, including getting Saucerman’d Wednesday. The Sound Tigers are winless in their past five trips to their Original House of Pain. It looked like Devon Toews was about ready to return. (It had looked like it before.)
  • Meh, what else is going on: Worcester plays Manchester tonight at the DCU Center; this could be the box. The Railers beat ManchVegas on Wednesday (Josh Holmstrom game-winner; two points and first-star honors for ex-SHU defenseman Connor Doherty), which we forgot to mention yesterday. Up top, Barry Trotz says what we’re all thinking.
  • Aren’t you supposed to be doing something else: Probably, but the Winter Garden is a haul (Podcasts!). No, actually: Remember Charlie Capalbo, the Fairfield co-op goalie who battled lymphoma two years ago? He’s incredibly battling leukemia now. Story to come soon, and we heard that he got some good medical news this week, but in the meantime, cool fundraiser for his family on Dec. 30 in Fairfield, and the Sound Tigers will honor him on Feb. 23, with fundraising tickets available.

Hasta mañana.
