RestWatch: Springfield pregame

RestWatch for this weekend is sorta negative from a Bridgeport perspective. The Sound Tigers played last night in Providence; Springfield was off. They’ll finish a three-in-three tomorrow against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, which had Friday off as well. The Penguins have a trip ahead of them tonight, though.

But the Sound Tigers are at least coming off a win, with Michael Dal Colle’s first pro hat trick completed in overtime (Tambellini, Wallace) after the ninth-latest game-tying goal ever in a Sound Tigers game. Three points for Tanner Fritz as well, and a couple apiece for Devon Toews (on shots) and Mitch Vande Sompel (who made a nice little play to turn things around on the game-winner).

The other kind of RestWatch produces an interesting lineup tonight. As promised, a veterans rotation; Stephen Gionta and Mike Sislo get in; Ben Holmstrom and, healthy as far as we know, Steve Bernier sit out. Travis St. Denis also gets slid to fourth-line left winger to start. (There is an obvious and easy swap if desired later; we’ve seen similar.)

Springfield had a little shuffle of personnel yesterday, getting Anthony Greco back from Florida after his NHL debut, sending Jayce Hawryluk and Henrik Borgstrom up.
