Road game: Bridgeport at Lehigh

  • The Engineers? Really? They’re the MOUNTAIN HAWKS now, for some reason.
  • Really? OK. The Mountain Hawks? Really? No, but everybody calls the Phantoms “Lehigh.” Kinda like how everyone still calls the ECHL “the Coast” no matter how much people scold.
  • Who, when, whatever: Bridgeport at Lehigh Valley, PPL Center, Friday, 7ish p.m. but surely later since it’s on TV
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / Ianniello I mean the Phantoms / Tony Androckitis / Bob Rotruck
  • Box score: Sure why not (R: Mayer, MacDougall; L: Waleski, M.McNulty).
  • Storyline: Kids could sit this and, it sounds like, next weekend. (NHL trade deadline in a little over a week, and everyone’s a heartbeat away anyway, so everything is subject to change.) Wrote the Ben Holmstrom story I’ve been meaning to write for a month. (It’s a different world on my side, too. Haven’t even gotten to Matt Lorito, for crying out loud.) The lead is three points on Providence, and five on the Phantoms and holy-cro-Hershey-with-its-13-game-point-streak.
  • Meh, what else is going on: Matt Finn signed a PTO with Hartford, so he could make his Harbor Yard return tomorrow night. Providence picked up veteran forward Lee Stempniak on a PTO. The Big Club will honor Bill Torrey on March 9.
  • Aren’t you supposed to be doing something else: Big win for North Haven last night, and obviously I didn’t talk to Chris Avena about it. (Goalie Apple, though.) Also PODCAST, in which I’m guessing you can hear the exhaustion. (True story: When I was writing up my to-do list for today late last night, I wrote “podcast” three times.)
  • Will you add the Bridgeport lineup here at some point: Yeah, think so. Looks like:

    BRIDGEPORT
    F: St. Denis-Koivula-C.Bourque
    Lorito-Stevens-Bellows
    R.Bourque-Fritz-Bernier (A)
    Jones-Kubiak-B.Holmstrom (C)
    D: Aho-Burroughs
    Wotherspoon-Casto
    Helgeson (A)-Vande Sompel
    Rathgeb-apparent scratch
    G: Smith
    Gibson

  • If this were a regular blog post, what word or phrase would most likely follow “More” at this point: Tomorrow, with 100 percent more Pios (post-streak).
