Is it Friday yet: Thursday notes

Always good to answer your header questions in the header

Lot of special-teams work this morning for Bridgeport, tweaking the second unit, trying a few different things. They’re about ready to get this thing on. Hershey will be skating a little later here.

Bridgeport’s regular group includes pretty much everyone who has been here except for Yannick Rathgeb, who’s with the Black Aces; the injured Mike Sislo; and the ATOs except for new arrival Mason Jobst (sounds like Yahbst, by the way, if you too have been pronouncing it wrong). So that’s 16 forwards and seven defensemen with the two goalies. Rathgeb and the Worcester guys have been making up the Black Aces.

Brent Thompson said everybody in the regular group today is good to go. That includes Josh Ho-Sang (who appears to be in for Game 1) and Ben Holmstrom (who does not).

Bad form to report other reporters’ assignments, but um: Murderer’s Row next to me in Bridgeport tomorrow.

From the Island, Barry Trotz told reporters there that Tanner Fritz is getting close to skating.

Elsewhere, the playoffs got rolling with a wild one in San Diego last night. They’ll try again tonight.

Alex Nedeljkovic was named the AHL’s top goalie; Zach Redmond got the nod as top defenseman.

Carolina called up Patrick Brown from Charlotte on Tuesday.
