Former Sound Tigers: St. Louis wins the Cup

No former Sound Tigers getting their names on the Stanley Cup this year. The Blues beat the Bruins in Game 7 in Boston, winning their first championship in Year 52. Jaroslav Halak, backup Boston goalie, would’ve earned a spot had the Bruins won.

Slightly old news, meanwhile, tweeted, not blogged: Jeremy Smith has departed for Beijing, signing with Kunlun Red Star. (Red Star could be this year’s official unofficial Home For Former Tigers: Vic Bartley, Brandon DeFazio, and Smith, plus as a bonus former Islanders assistant coach Curt Fraser.)

So hockey season is over. (Sigh.) Draft next weekend. Free agency to follow.
