Steve Bernier and John Stevens return on AHL contracts, the Sound Tigers announce, as well as Ryan MacKinnon and Mike Cornell. They’ve also added forwards Nic Pierog, Nick Schilkey and Kyle MacLean on AHL deals, taking care of most of their business at once, as is the Lamoriello wont, it seems.
Bernier and Stevens are two good ones to have back from that bunch last year, and some interesting depth in the others. Schilkey won a Calder Cup. Pierog scored 32 goals in the Coast. MacLean put up 60 points in the OHL before he turned 20 (plus you can obviously never have enough sons of 1,000-game NHLers). And we’ve seen a bit of MacKinnon and Cornell here, of course.
