Nice of them to wait: Tuesday notes Wednesday

Been off for much of the past two weeks, not that you’d have noticed much around here, as things have been relatively quiet. First move in or out in two weeks was Mitch Gillam’s departure to Wichita (ECHL). Bill Ballou reported that Bridgeport could have a hand in making Bobby Butler, who became director of hockey operations for the Junior Railers, a senior Railer.

Some other alumni made deals. Brett Gallant signed for two more years in Cleveland. Somewhat amazingly, Gallant has been a Monster for 171 games now, 17 shy of his total with Bridgeport.

Non-alumni: Matt Moulson signed with Hershey, which, alumni, will bring in Casey Bailey on a tryout, back in North America after a strikingly weird KHL season (in which he once dressed as a backup goalie).

Hartford finally has its man, Kris Knoblauch, at least temporarily filling out the table. Knoblauch has a fine resume for a 40-year-old but may be best known as Connor McDavid’s junior coach.
