HOME game: Belleville at Bridgeport

  • Who, when, whatever: Senators at Sound Tigers, Arena at Harbor Yard, 3 p.m.
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / the Senators
  • Box score: Yep (R: Dietrich, Tufts; L: N.Briganti, Simeon)
  • Game notes: Welp, no more winning streak for Bridgeport. Oliver Wahlstrom gaveth and tooketh away in his return from the Show. See what the lineup looks like today after that loss. (Brent Thompson: “If we take a shift off, it’s going to bite us. We saw how hard we had to fight for our wins. It’s going to get harder. That’s what our guys can do. We have that ability. It’s a matter of which guys are doing it, and doing it together.”) Coming in is Belleville, which got a shootout win in Hartford last night to break a tie for last place in the Eastern Conference with you-know-who. Fascinating bit, partly pointed out to me last night (dunno if said person wants to claim it, so I’ll leave them out of it for the moment): Bridgeport hasn’t lost in regulation to a Senators team in the past 10 meetings, going 9-0-1-0 back to Jan. 17, 2014 (one Sound Tiger on both rosters!): The Sound Tigers are 4-0 against Belleville and were 5-0-1-0 against Binghamton in the last three years the Sens were there. It kind of gets better: At home, Bridgeport is unbeaten in regulation in the past 11 games against Senators, 9-0-2-0, dating back to Dec. 20, 2008… and look at some of those names. (Look, in particular, if you’ve been around longer than that, at the No. 1 star for Binghamton. I dug my story out and laughed. “I think I was just happy to get the plus.”)
  • Meh, stop right there before you start talking about Keith Aucoin and Petteri Nokelainen. What else is going on: Football, probably. I’m trying to avoid it today.
  • Aren’t you supposed to be doing something else: Personal day. (Good personal, though.)
  • If this were a regular blog post, what word or phrase would most likely follow “More” at this point: Tomorrow, but probably not much more. (Football day.)

–A 2-1 loss, so there go those streaks; Andrew Ladd with the only goal. Cole Bardreau, as Christian Gardecki noticed, went to the room after his second shift of the second period and didn’t return.
