Road game: Bridgeport at Providence

  • Who, when, whatever: Sound Tigers at Bruins, The House of Pain, 3 p.m.
  • Watch: AHLTV pay-per-view
  • Listen: Mixlr audio
  • Twitters: Alan / the Sound Tigers / Mark Divver / The Broons
  • Box score: Sure, OK (R: Curtin, Deckard; L: Zyla, Keenan). First Bridgeport game for ref Jim Curtin. (Might be a first for the linesmen, too.)
  • Game notes: Welcome back to the House of Pain. Although it isn’t as painful as it once was: Bridgeport is 9-14-2-1 in Providence the past five seasons. The Sound Tigers have won at least twice there in each of the past four years. Heck, arguably the most remarkable comeback in team history was there. Still, Providence has scored five or more goals seven times in those five seasons (26 total games), including four times with six or more. On the other hand, Bridgeport has scored five-plus in Providence five times, including six twice. (One minor problem with that: Bridgeport scored six in their last visit last year… and lost 8-6.) Then again, this is the Bruins team that has defeated Bridgeport in Bridgeport twice by a combined 8-1. (Deep breath) Enough of the back-and-forth. This is today, etc., Day 1 without Andrew Ladd again. Cole Bardreau left yesterday’s game early in the second period; told he’s day-to-day. Two-game losing streak after a two-game winning streak. See what they’ve got. Meanwhile, Barry Trotz was asked yesterday on the Island about Oliver Wahlstrom (minus-2 later in the day):

  • What else is going on: Happy Veterans Day, with thanks to all those who’ve served.
  • RIP, Melanie Coleman and Charles Rogers.
  • Aren’t you supposed to be doing something else: Oh, trust me, I am.
  • If this were a regular blog post, what word or phrase would most likely follow “More” at this point: Aside from lines and maybe a wrapup at some point, Wednesdayish unless warranted.

Warmups from video, without Koivula, which could mean he’s next up again:
