The Islanders placed the veteran on waivers Thursday. Lou Lamoriello told reporters on the Island that Ladd will join Bridgeport in Belleville for Friday’s game if he clears:

Ladd, 34 in a month, scored a goal on nine shots and probably should’ve had an assist in his five games of conditioning, which ended on Sunday against the B-Sens.
Edit: Arthur Staple points out that, in this video, Lamoriello says that Mitch Vande Sompel will likely miss the season.
