General Electric, based in Fairfield, is among the best companies for internships, according to a recent report from Glassdoor. GE comes in at No. 22.
Facebook took the top spot on the list of “25 Highest Rated Companies for Internships” for the second year in a row. The list is based on feedback from interns. Facebook received an overall company rating of 4.6 out of 5. Its interview difficulty rating was 3.1 out of 5. Interns at Facebook praised the company’s culture and influence.
“You are working on a very interesting problems, which actually affect more than a billion people. You also learn a lot from people around you,” a Facebook intern told Glassdoor.
Chevron made its debut on the list, at No. 2. Google ranked No. 3, down one spot from 2014.
There are more than 27,500 open internships in the U.S., according to Glassdoor. About 1,500 of those are based in the Bay Area. New York City has the most, with 2,500 internships available.
For a company to qualify for Glassdoor’s list, it must have at least 20 company ratings and interview difficulty ratings between Jan. 20, 2014 and Jan. 19, 2015. All companies on the list were hiring interns as of Jan. 30, 2015.
