Bethel student wins county award for fire poster

Lauren Pruner, a 5th Grader at Johnson School in Bethel, was named one of Fairfield County’s Winners in the statewide CT Fire Prevention Poster Recognition Program.

Her poster represented the theme “FIRE PREVENTION- EVERYONE/EVERDAY” and was chosen among dozens from Fairfield county schools.
Her poster will be entered in the Statewide Poster contest.

Lauren and her family along with Johnson School Officials will attend a Statewide luncheon with the Bethel Fire Marshal Tom Galliford in March where each of the County Winners will be recognized and the Statewide Winner will be announced.

The program is a cooperative effort of the Office of State Fire Marshal, the CT Fire Marshals Association, CT DEEP, CT State Fire Chiefs Association, CT State Board of Education, and the CT FAIR Plan (representing insurance industry).
