Newtown Kindness honors Sandy Hook victim with second annual award event

Newtown Kindness will hold the second annual Charlotte Bacon Act of Kindness Awards ceremony at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown Center today from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The awards ceremony is the organization’s premiere event which takes place on Charlotte’s birthday. Newtown Kindness will recognize those children who have completed acts of kindness of all kinds.

The organization believes that no act of kindness is too small, so every entry is recognized with a certificate. Exceptional entries are recognized with a Charlotte Bacon Act of Kindness Award.  The Award recipients are selected by members of the Newtown Kindness board, including Charlotte’s grandfather, Dan Bacon.  Consideration is given to those acts of kindness that show tremendous personal effort, impact, creativity, motivation, influence, and long term benefit.

By recognizing all entries, Newtown Kindness intends to stoke the fire of kindness that is already within these kids. The goal of the Charlotte Bacon Act of Kindness Awards is to inspire other children to emulate the Awardees, and to raise awareness about how amazing it is to be a kind kid.
