Police: Danbury men had BB-gun near child-care center

Danbury police on Monday arrested two city men who were seen carrying a rifle-style BB-gun near a child-care center.

Officers went to the area of Action Early Learning Center on Balmforth Avenue just before noon after receiving a call about two men with a gun walking in the parking lot, according to a press release issued by Danbury Police Lt. Christian Carroccio, the department’s spokesman.

The caller directed police toward the woods leading to Wooster Cemetery where they found Eddison Loja, 18, and Walter Vasquez, 23, both of Danbury.

The gun found with the men was determined to be a BB-gun. Both were then arrested and charged with breach of peace, criminal trespass and carrying and sale of a dangerous weapon. They were held on $2,5000 bond.
