SCSU on alert after armed robberies

owlSouthern Connecticut State University students have been told to use ‘extreme caution’ after two armed robberies on the New Haven campus early Friday.

Classes, however, have not been cancelled.

On its Facebook page, the University posted:

“Students are urged to use extreme caution returning to their residence halls after two incidences of armed robbery on campus early this morning.

“University Police are searching for a black male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, in his 20s, wearing a gray and orange sweater. The man displayed a handgun in two separate robbery incidents that occurred near Jess Dow Field shortly after midnight Friday.

“No students were injured, though several items of personal property were taken.”
