The Walk Bridge in Norwalk
NORWALK – An informational meeting will be held Tuesday to update commuters on the status of the Walk Bridgeport replacement project.
The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at the community room at Norwalk City Hall. Members of the public, local officials, organizations, commuters and citizens who may have an interest in this improvement are encouraged to attend.
The meeting is intended to allow agencies and the public to provide input on the project’s purpose and need, the alternatives under consideration and areas of key environmental concern.
The 100 year old Walk Bridge failed several times last year, delaying commuters as officials attempted to close the bridge. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has committed to replacing the bridge, a project that could cost as much as $500 million in state and federal funds.
