State police says no ‘altercation’ involving Lanza before shooting

State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance denied a report by NBC News that alleged Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza, 20, had an “altercation” with staff members at the school on Thursday, the day before the shooting.

Vance was speaking during a news conference Saturday afternoon.

NBC News had earlier reported that Lanza had an altercation with four staff members, and three of those staffers were killed during Friday’s shooting. Vance said there was no evidence of a confrontation.
