  1. Peter Raymond says:

Do constituents really want political party insiders deciding who shall run for office? Voters certainly suffer as a result of this flawed process. So why do we allow it to continue?

Let’s have the candidates debate the issues and allow the voters to choose a candidate in a primary contest. Voters and voters alone must be allowed to pick their representatives or surely their voices will not be heard in Washington.

How do voters force a primary? Simple, sign a petition in support of your candidate and demand a primary take place. Go to your candidate’s website and they will provide the necessary information, but do so quickly because the deadline is June 7th.

Of course, we could all just hope that the Republican party knows best and will inform us who deserves to run for office just as they did in the NY 23rd disaster.
