  1. Dave Moore says:

Hey RObert the reason the polls only stayed open was because many voters had to wait because of the ballot situarion.

  2. Chris says:

Susan Bysiewicz’s handling of the situation sounds very unprofessional (at best) and potentially much more serious to me …I believe a full investigation of the vote and her handling of it are needed because she makes any further declarations.

I especially like the 200+ ballots associated with an empty lot in Bridgeport as their address. Sounds like the tip of the iceberg for potential voter fraud.

  3. Carol says:

There is a reason why our statewide election is decided by two cities with large union and entitlement driven populations,Robert. It is because that is the population of CT. Wake up and look beyond your closeted suburb.

  4. robert says:

what a great post with the info that only the two malloy strongholds stayed open past 8———-the judge SHOULD have let ALL polls stay open————————Foley may have a legal case—–will probably depend on how many votes came in after 8 PM—–and what the final tally is

  5. robert says:

isn’t it great that our statewide election is decided by two cities with large union and entitlement driven populations?

  6. Dave says:

    1. AP is looking for ‘link-bait’ to drive traffic to their site and to make them appear to be relevant. They aren’t. And they don’t have access to anything more than exit polling.

    2. Gubernatorial elections are not run like Prez elections, there is no Electoral college. if 98.5% precincts have been counted but the last 1.5% are major ones (like Bridgeport or New Haven), it’s easy for it to tip the election.

    3. Republican Governors have had their chance over the last 20 years. What did Rell do? Rowland? Name anything. You can’t. Dan Malloy rejuvenated Stamford and he is a pragmatic moderate who is a friend to business. Stop trying to paint him like he’s a wild-eyed Liberal. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

  7. Nick says:

Why havent the absentee ballots of our military people been counted yet??

  8. Paul says:

I agree on all counts with the Stamford Moderate Democrat(why does a moderate from either party have to be looked at with disgust?). I think some of the dems that want to move on are still reacting to Florida 2000, which led to 8 years of Bush. And Kevin, since when does being in a union correlate to someone being a liberal?

  9. Kevin says:

First of all, The Secretary of State Bysciwiez (Democrat) is an idiot for declaring the race for a (Democrat) with UNOFFICIAL results. She also tried to run for an office that required attorney experience. I really think she has a screw loose. She obviously does not read rule books.

BTW…I am a (Democrat) and can’t believe the stupidity here.

  10. Kevin says:

The fact that AP is reporting this is a sign Malloy has indeed NOT won. AP has proven itself over the years as a liberal news outfit (and its reporters are all union members)…so the Malloy camp should be worried.

  11. Stamford Moderate Democrat says:

Democrats – what happened to all that noble talk about how every vote should be counted and how are troops died for the right to vote? I have seen tunes change, but never that fast. Now that your candidate is in the lead you are all like “game over, move on, no more vote counting, no recounts, we won…ha ha.” I voted for Malloy. I want him to win because he actually won, not because I root for the democrats like I root for the Yankees. The Republicans fielded some yahoos this year- O’Donnell, McMahon….Foley is not in that category and deserves his recount

  12. Eagle eye says:

Hold on now the AP has historically been liberal! Your telling me they would throw their weight behind foley? What are they going to gain from that. Let’s just take a step back and look at what’s happening….. inconsistency and discrepancy in counting votes that’s the problem. That should automatically force a fully audited recount including all abscentee ballots. If it gets called now for either side it will not have any legitimacy. We the people of CT deserve honesty and integrity in owe voting process.

  13. Just Asking says:

Susan Byciewicz declared Malloy the unofficial winner without having a full vote tally . Outrageous!! Perhaps the soon to be unemployed Byciewicz was promised a job by Malloy if she played along. Just asking.

  14. TruthInGovernment says:

Only two states in the entire country..must have the dumbest voters, based on the rest of the country’s results. CA, a state already in bankruptcy..and CT will be next..we have 3 Billion in debt..thanks to the democrats controlling the state legislature…with Malloy..spending will continue..he will raise taxes..oh..he’ll say he has to do it..and we are screwed..businesses will either shut down and larger ones will move out..

Let’s not even get into the corruption in Bridgeport..which has 62,000 registered voters..yet the Democrat Registrar of Voters only ordered 21,000 ballots…which allowed the xeroxing copies of ballots..totally opening the door for ballot stuffing..

    Well CT..PROVEN DUMB AND CORRUPT..

  15. Bill says:

Bridgeport Voter, where are you getting your numbers from? The only published numbers show Foley ahead. The first thing Malloy should do once he gets in is buy the state faster copy machines so this doesn’t happen again.

  16. TruthInGovernment says:

It appears in the two major cities where Democrats control the registrars office and the SOTS…there might be a little corruption going on…

In Bridgeport..a town of 62,000 registered voters..the registrar only ordered 21,000 ballots..running out by 2pm..sending many seniors home and told to return later..many may not of been able to..disenfranchising them..some report ballots who were copied were pre-filled out and submitted..this is all very questionable.

  17. annyct says:

And what’s with the headlines? Typical Left CT Post!!!

  18. annyct says:

WAkE UP, CT The fix was in, the results reeked of rigging! Bridgeport is “little Chicago.” We’re not called the 13th most corrupt state in the nation for nothing!!! Good bye Mr. Malloy, Heeeeelllllooooo Mr. Foley….woo hoo!!!

  19. pro contractor says:

can’t believe you elect Malloy he can’t even control his son let alone a state!

  20. Max says:

And everytime I heard Malloy say he formed an exploratory committee to decide whether he was going to run for Gov. I wanted to puke. Malloy has had his sights on the Gov’s position for a long, long time (over 20 years). Being Mayor of Stamford was a mere step to it. And I don’t have a problem with that being a life long objective (to be Gov.). He has clearly worked hard to reach his objective. But to say he was exploring the idea I say, and I am Irish, malarkey.

He Dan, lose the arrogance. And loosen your neck tie. You’re about as natural as Heidi Montag’s chest.

  21. Max says:

This is a POWER GRAB by Malloy. Such arrogance!

ALL of the votes have yet to be counted .

And the Sec’y of State is a JOKE. SHE should be investigated.

If Malloy comes out ahead when ALL the votes are recorded so be it.

But to begin what he is doing is undemocratic.

“Hey Malloy, are you related to Bladojevich?”

  22. cobbby0367 says:

Does it matter where their numbers are coming from? The fact that the election is so close and our secretary of state declared a winner is a problem. If Malloy or Foley wins, so be it. I, for one, do not want some official stating that an individual won when it is close and all the votes have not been counted. Likewise, I do not want the AP to tell me who is winning when all the votes haven’t been counted.

Finally, a couple of you noted that the AP is “slanted.” It is, but that would mean they would have stood by their story that Malloy won — the AP is not slanted right, they slant left.

We need to see the official count. Not the one our Secretary of State “thinks” the count is or press reports “think” the count is… the REAL ONE.

  23. anonymous says:

Notice Bridgeport voter: only Bridgeport and New Haven were held open after 8….that’s a crock….

  24. Dave Moore says:

The AP does not declare the election winner.

  25. Bridgeport Voter says:

Where is the AP getting their numbers? Are they counting with their fingers and toes? With the huge margin Malloy had in Bridgeport and New Haven, he was clearly the winner. This is just slanted journalism at its worst. They are just looking for something controversial to stir the pot.

  26. remy1b says:

The headline should be “AP is under-reporting vote totals”! The AP is fully aware of the fact that they haven’t included most of New Haven’s votes in their reports. If they report New Haven’s votes for Malloy, everyone will know Malloy won the election without question. The AP has an obligation to report the news and votes instead of spreading confusion for another day.

  27. anonymous says:

Brian this should be HEADLINES IN THE ADVOCATE TOMORROW…STop drinking the malloy kewl aid and let’s face reality here !
