“So our nation needs representatives who carfully consider the NUANCES and don’t simply follow the lock step part line”

Nice goal, but tell me what CT Democrats voted less than 95% of the time with Nancy Pelosi. If you don’t know the answer, then let me tell you – NONE.

So to say you would have supported Simmons because he would not vote lock step with his party has no credibilty when you vote for other Democratic politicians that always vote lock step with the party.

We did not need Simmons in the Senate to be a bagman for the Democrats with the threat of always switching parties. There is no longer any moderate politicans. You are either conservative or liberal. I will take the conservative all day long.

As for Simmons, he served the country with honor, but he does not belong as a Republican Senator.

No we didn’t …Linda did EXTREMELY WELL and better than Simmons would have done by a milestone….

  3. George says:

Simmons did more to help Blumenthal get elected than any other Republican in the state. He should rejoice.

  4. Jeremy says:

Simmons never said he would have voted for Blumenthal. He could have opted to leave it blank…relax.

Simmons is a great guy who has a record of winning in Dem districts. We made a big mistake with Linda McMahon.

  5. A Rational American says:

The fact that this guy would even consider voting for Richard Blumenthal is the reason he should have been the Republican nominee – and maybe someone for whom I could have voted. Our nation needs representatives who carefully consider the NUANCES and don’t simply follow the lock step party line. The constituents of a Connecticut representative want and need different things than a representative from Texas or Colorado. Connecticut’s representatives need to represent their constiutents, not the party leaders.

  6. David says:

Connecticut should be honored to have a man like Rob Simmons.

Let’s only hope that he was not discouraged by the mistake of the CT Republicans and grants us the privilege to be able to vote for him once again.

If things had gone differently in May and August, I firmly believe we’d all be saying “Senator Simmons” right now…

  7. Rusty says:

The fact that this guy would even consider voting for DlCK is the only reason you need to know why he should not have been the Republican nominee.

He dropped out, dropped in, and dropped out. How would he react if he somehow got to Congress? Embarassing!

  8. Debbie says:

Simmons is a class act. Maybe if his name was on that ballot the GOP would have had a shot.
