The “conspiracy” was simple: the Republican Party made this election a referendum on Obama. So Obama’s supporters (he got 80% of the vote in Bridgeport in 2008) came out tl support him, and raised the Democratic vote, with urging from visits from Obama.

A Republican dirty trick, or a Democrat set-up for an opportunity to stuff the ballot boxes with photocopied ballots that had to be hand-counted and not machine-scanned? What about the fact that they neglected to check off the names of people who came in to vote “in all of the confusion” that resulted from the Democrat registrar not ordering enough ballots, especially in the wake of a visit by Pres. Obama stumping for Malloy, when they should have anticipated a higher-than-average turnout.
The only way I’d have confidence in the results is with a do-over, with federal monitors, as in BobinTh2nds comment above.

    E–

What, a Democrat can’t be bought?

I doubt you really believe that…

  4. BobInThe2nd says:

We need a redo of the election. With federal monitors.

All races do over. There is no confidence in this set of election results. It’s tainted.

    The videos are damning.

  5. Down state Registrar says:

Boughtons suggestions of going back to the tabulator tapes, doesn’t do the job. The problems arise in the hand counted ballots, the writ-ins, and the absentees. The tabulator totals are the easiest part of the count. There will also be minor changes from the few provisional ballots that will be counted after the election.

You can rest assured that every registrar and head moderator is reviewing the head moderators report submitted to the SOTS. Any changes are automatically sent in to the SOTS for updating and corrections.

Only a Dem would call the Dem Registrar’s ineptness a Republican dirty trick. But that is the Dem way – no accountability, not my fault, point the finger, etc.

  7. Anderson Scoper says:

What really needs to be investigated is whether Bridgeport running out of ballots was a Republican dirty trick. Certainly it was a Republican’s dream come true to watch thousands of Democrats be unable to vote.

Note that because of the various State Senate and House races, there were 11 different ballots used in Bridgeport Tuesday. And 25 different voting places. So the 21,000 ballots ordered could not have accommodated 21,000 voters, but likely a good 20% less.

Why would the Dem Registrar risk such a nightmare just to save a few bucks, that weren’t even her own? Why did she do nothing after Obama visited, guaranteeing a boost in turnout?

It just doesn’t make sense, and I have to wonder if it was anything other than ineptness….

In any case, Sandy Ayala needs to resign. She embarrassed the entire State of CT.
