Tom Foley is embarrassing himself and the State of Connecticut.

Lawsuit threats. Conspiracy theories. Recount gasping. Raised eyebrows and innuendo. JUST STOP!

Dan Malloy won, whether you like him or dislike him.

I sincerely feel bad for Tom Foley because he wasted $11 Million of his own money, and so many bad things came out about his past. But enough is enough. Tom Foley needs to make one final trip to the podium, hold his head high and proud, and concede in a very gentlemanly fashion. He impressed many, many voters, nearly half of them all, so he will have another shot at the prize someday.

Now he needs to walk away, before he is forever tarnished.

ATTENTION KEN DIXON: Why is no one in the press clearing up the issues around the empty lot street address related to the absentee ballots (which has nothing to do with the AB applicant’s address) or whether or not the incompetent Bpt registrars can actually be “fired” as so many are calling for? (what’s the rule since they’re elected officials). You have the power to reduce all these stupid reactions based on rumors if you put out the facts. Please dig a little and give people the facts so we can put to bed these conspiracy theories!

  3. Frank says:

Enough already. Concede Mr. Foley. It’s over. You sound like a big cry baby and sore loser. If we do have a re-vote, you just lost my vote. I’ll be changing to Malloy after your actions now!

Do you really think dragging this out is what is best for CT? Did Gore, who actually won the popular vote concede too late and put this country through hell, like you are doing to CT. On the other hand Kerry, even with the Ohio problem, did what was best for the country and conceded to BUSH.

Now, DO THE RIGHT THING AND CONCEDE.

This election was rigged in the heart of corruption in this state Bridgeport. if it went the other way Malloy and state Dems would be all over this. the vote went 50/50 a recount is needed for the next gov to govern effectively. we have half the state that wants neither candidate which speaks volumes about the two Connecticut’s that exist one which is Middle class tax payers who want some sanity in the Governors mansion and the other special interest and inner city folks looking for hand outs. Hey, I got it how about Malloy runs the half the state he won and Foley the other half he won but each side pays for itself. in 2 year we go back and look see which is doing better and then vote again for Gov. I’m sick of being a middle class guy taxed to into economic slavery to pay for big democratic government. especally in a rigged election. I thought this was the USA not the USSR. WE NEED A COMPLETE RECOUNT AND INSPECTION OF THE VOTES SO WE DON’T HAVE A FRAUDULENT ELECTION PUT A MAN IN CHARGE OF THIS STATE

  5. Bon says:

Yes, Publius, of course you are right; I meant absentee ballots. I think a lack of sleep lately has confused my brain…

  6. Publius says:

Bon, I think you are confusing “write in votes” with “absentee ballots”. Write in votes are counted and tabulated in each voting district with machine counted votes, but there are very few write-ins, and many of them are just adolescent pranks.

  7. Frank says:

Arm Wrestling Contest. Tom Foley, the guy is right. Go for it.

Mr. Foley, yes please take a page from your own playbook. Settle this mess like a man. Or concede graciously.

  8. Herb K. says:

Tom Foley, Lawyers, and Decisions —

Foley’s airplane company proved you can solve a big mess like the CT governor’s vote by ARM WRESTLING! No lawyers required!

Yes, that’s right! Look it up on Google. It was a big legal fight between Stevens Aviation (owned by Foley) and Southwest Airlines. Huge battle over some marketing rights.

They ARM WRESTLED on national TV, and solved the whole thing without lawyers or acrimony. It was called “Malice in Dallas,” and it is still used in college marketing textbooks as a clever example of admirable creativity.

All the legal fees went to charity, instead.

Mr. Foley, take a page from your own playbook. Challenge Dan Malloy to an arm-wrestling contest, best 2 out of 3. May the best man win!

Now, please stop all the whining and legal threats.

    Love you, man!

    Herb

  9. Bon says:

In a race this close they should be counting the write-in votes as well. Byskewicz has said they usually are in line with the other numbers so there’s no need to count them, but that’s not necessarily true. The military votes are usually leaning toward the Republican candidates, is that why she doesn’t want to include them? Seems like the fix is in.

  11. Frank says:

    Florida 2000…..Florida 2000…Florida 2000

  12. Full Disclosure says:

This is typical of how the “Democratic” machine works in CT. If they lose the election or see it slipping away, they go to a backup plan and use Bridgeport as their little enabler. This election is so rigged and rotten, perhaps the Governor can declare a day where EVERYONE CAN VOTE AGAIN ….

Bridgeport is the most corrupt city in this Blue State.

  13. Jeff from Connecticut says:

A bag of stuff envelopes that pole workers don’t want to count, empty lots as addresses, questionable absentee ballots… smells like vote rigging and fraud. Sould we expect anything other than the corruption that Bridgeport has proven itself of over and over again.

  14. Dave Moore says:

and furthermore to Mr Foley, I have a song for you. “DOn’t you come around no more no more!”

  15. Dave Moore says:

The election results are in. Foley LOST! It is time to move on. Mr Foley spoke of reducing the cost of state government. Now he is threatening to bring an expensive law suit because this elderly spoiled brat didn’t get his way.

  16. Bob Gold says:

Sounds like Foley has more money than sense. Which explains why some one who is so rich that he thinks he can buy homself a governership.

  17. Jason says:

Oh right Laurie, speaking of rich, never noticed that blumenthal married into the family that owns the empire state building? i read a hartford courant columnist who made an issue that mcmahon voted in a school district that had only 1% of the students on free lunch…i guess it never occurred to her that blumenthal voted in same school.

i think its a little premature to call foley a spoiled brad until we hear what he has to say today. no different than it was too early for susan b. to call the election before the vote tally was done.

  18. Laurie from Connecticut says:

Sounds as if Mr. Foley cannot graciously accept defeat. It is time to move on; let the new administration get started. Too bad Mr. Foley couldn’t be like Linda McMahon. Mr. Foley is acting like the spoiled little rich brat he is.
