no where in the private industry does a pension get calculated on the last 3 or 5 years salary including overtime. That nonsense has to stop. The private sector has been losing pensions at a record pace. The public sector needs to convert to contributory 401 k type plans. ALso the healthcare contributions are too low compared to private sectors. I’ve paid 13k per year for family coverage. Finally we have too many public employees excluding safety and public works. THe layers of government are unnecessary. Too many supervisory levels, too many unnecessary committees, too many consultants. The waste in CT is epidemic.
