Tom Beirne is once again the voice of reason in the Republican Party. The Milford Republican Town Committee has lost their way – when Lisman and Beirne were running the show, they intelligently led the city into prosperity. They held taxes at bay while protecting education and city services. In short, they were smart men who acted like real Republicans.
But now that the next wave of Republicans (Richetelli et al) have swept in, we have faced increased spending, harm to our school system and city services, and even a substance abuse scandal. No wonder they did not want Bierne on their town committee – he shows them how just embarrassing they have become. Tom Beirne and Fred Lisman still serve as a reminder of how great the Milford Republicans once were.
If Bierne thinks Blake is the right choice, then he has my (republican) vote.
