U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., will back the U.S. nuclear deal with Iran, joining the rest of Connecticut’s Democratic congressional delegation and defying foes of the pact that include Joe Lieberman.
The subject of a high-stakes lobbying campaign by both sides in the foreign policy debate, Blumenthal announced his decision Tuesday morning in Hartford.
Blumenthal had been a prominent Senate holdout on the controversial deal.
