Yours truly confront Danbury BOE on poor attendance record

As someone who has followed the Danbury Board of Education’s activities for the past five years, I can tell you that the attendance record of some of the board members is nothing more than a joke.

I tallied up last year’s 19 meetings from the attendance report issued under the board Agenda documents for January 27th and then looked at the minutes from the first two January meetings, out of a total of 21 meetings since last January.

The attendance is as follows (members for re-election this year are labeled in bold.

Irving Fox 21…………100%
Robert Taborsak 21…………..100%
Gladys Cooper 18…….85%
Richard Jannelli 18………………85%
Kathleen Molinaro 17………………..80%
Keith Gailliard 15…………………71%
Joe Scozzafava 15…………………..71%
Eileen Alberts 14………………67%
Susan Podhajski 13……….61%
Rachael Austin 10…………..47%
Mike Fazio 9………………………..42%

When the sub-committee meetings are taken into consideration, the attendance records for certain members drop into the toilet with Mike Fazio being the most offensive.

Which brings me to last night’s PTO candidate forum.

Last night, I confronted members of the board of ed and took them to task for their laughable attendance record…and you wouldn’t believe it but the incumbent up for re-election with the worst attendance record, Mike Fazio, didn’t even attend the forum!

Here’s yours truly in action…

When you go to the polls, PLEASE take into consideration that certain people on the board WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHILD’S QUALITY OF EDUCATION rarely attend meetings or public forums.

Think before you vote!
