I am a native New Yorker, but moved around often as I was growing up and when my children were young. I have lived north, south, east and west in the US, picking up bits of local culture, traditions and recipes along the way. My husband and I settled down in Connecticut in 1994 and have never looked back. This is where we raised our three children, now all college graduates.
I opened Janet Rosier’s Educational Resources, Inc. in 2003 as a boutique Educational Consulting office. I work with a small number of students and guide each of them personally through their individual college search and application experience. I also assist with applying to graduate programs in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Speech and Language Pathology and Law School.
My firm’s philosophy is to guide students to colleges that are a good fit, academically as well as socially and emotionally. I help relieve the stress and lower the anxiety by directing students to appropriate college choices and advising them through each key step of the search and admission process. I believe that nothing substitutes for a first hand visit to the colleges and tour about 25 colleges every year; I have visited over 300 college campuses throughout the US.
I am a Certified Educational Planner (CEP), a Professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
I have written a book for high school seniors, college freshmen and their parents as a guide for today’s students to make a smooth transition to college life. A “heads up” of things they might encounter. Knowing what to expect might make a difference in how they understand and react to situations. “May 2: Practical Advice For College Freshmen And Their Parents”
