Weir Farm Announces Virtual Art in the Park Visitors’ Choice Award Contest Winners

Weir Farm located in Wilton has just announced the winners of their virtual art in the park visitors choice award contest winners. The Visitors’ Choice Award consisted of two rounds of online voting, with the top 6 works of art from two weeks of open voting advancing to a bracket-style competition on the park’s Facebook page last week. In total, 161 visitor votes were placed in this nail-biting creative competition for the highly coveted Visitors’ Choice Award. Congratulations to the winners, and to all of the artists who entered this year’s Virtual Art in the Park Contest and Exhibit! Artists from all over submitted an image of a piece of artwork inspired by or made at Weir Farm.

The first-place winner Mary Lou Cummings for “Weir Barn and Hollyhocks, Branchville, Conn.”, watercolor as shown above. The second-place winner is Norm Dick “The Woodshed”, ink and watercolor and the third-place winner is  Libby France, “Waterfall of Weir.”

All artwork entered in the contest is now featured on the park’s website as part of an online exhibit. With 87 submissions, the 2020 Virtual Art in the Park Exhibit focuses on showcasing the creativity that Weir Farm NHS inspires! Click here to see all the amazing works of art in the exhibit, including this year’s Visitors’ Choice Award recipients!
