GOP lawmakers, solid minorities in the CT House and Senate, will unveil their budget alternatives Tuesday afternoon

In attempt to become relevant players and lure some SW CT lawmakers who fear voting for higher taxes, House and Senate Republicans on Tuesday will trot out their no-new-taxes, big-spending-cuts budget. The Blogster anticipates a variation on the theme of their recent years, in which Republican governors, rather than a Democrat, ignored republican lawmakers and cut deals with majority Democrats. But until Gov. Dannel Malloy gets a deal with 43,000 unionized state workers, one budget proposal is as viable as the next.
