Joe McGee, co-chairman of Gov Malloy’s Two Storm Panel, like many people, appeared tired of state CBS affiliate WFSB’s “naming” of the Halloween storm for its own hyperbolic purposes. So he checked with the National Weather Service. “They don’t rate or name winter storms,” McGee said this morning. “So the official name of this storm is the October snow storm. I think ‘Alfred’ was the creation of a local media outlet. It’s not the official name.”
