Debicella spokesman: Campaign disagrees with decision to keep polls open.

Debicella for Congress spokesperson Jason Perillo announced a few minutes ago that the campaign disagreed with the decision to keep polls open in Bridgeport for two more hours until 10 p.m.

“The announcement has been made that the polls will remain open,” Perillo said. “We don’t agree with the decision…at this point we feel it may bias the outcome of the race.”

Perillo declined to expound on the comments.

“Perhaps as the night progresses we can shed more light on it,” Perillo said.

In Bridgeport 12 polling places will stay open until 10 p.m. They are: Park City, Longfellow, Beardsley, Reed, Central, Winthrop, Hallen, Black Rock, JFK, Hooker, Blackham and City Hall.

Late in the afternoon election officials realized they were running out of ballots.

“It seems like in Bridgeport they are always having a problem,” Mayor Dick Moccia said earlier about the procedural glitch.
