Familiar refrains at the polls

Eric Johnson was 18 and voting for the first time during the so-called Republican Revolution of ’94, when dissatisfaction with President Bill Clinton — and the economy, and a stab at health care reform — resulted in big wins for the GOP in Congress.

We all know how that turned out.

“I’m not going to jump ship just because things aren’t going that well right now,” said Johnson, 34, before voting the Democratic ticket at Julian Curtiss School in Greenwich this afternoon.

On the flip side, Angela Francisco, 52, is unhappy with the direction the country is taking, and voted Republican. She said many of her friends who voted for Barack Obama two years ago have switched back to the GOP.
