Hutchinson hits the road in Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman

State Senate hopeful Alice Hutchinson, a Democrat from Bethel running against Republican incumbent Michael McLachlan in the 24th District, is spending the last hour before the polls close greeting voters at Danbury High School.

Earlier in the day, Hutchinson visited the polls in New Fairfield and Sherman.

“People have been polite and supportive and encouraging,” she said. “I’m excited by the turnout I see and am hopeful for the results.”

But she thought it was a tough year to gauge the outcome.

“There really is no way to call this year,” Hutchinson said. “There is a lot of anxiety people are feeling and I don’t know how that will translate.

“At least, people are coming out to vote so we will know how they feel by the end of the night.”
