Mayor Moccia confident in Debicella victory

At State Senator Dan Debicella’s Election Night shindig at the Norwalk Inn Mayor Dick Moccia said he expects a close margin in the Fourth District Congressional race against incumbent U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, but is encouraged by what he said is good turnout in Republican strongholds in the county.

“Dan has run a great campaign against an incumbent and its after 8 p.m.,” Debicella said. “I’ve heard there has been good turnout.”

Moccia said that Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley of Greenwich will be a great governor, but that if Foley should lose to former Stamford mayor Dannel Malloy, lower Fairfield County would still be represented more fairly.

“I’m supporting Tom and in recent polls he had been ahead,” Moccia said. “But if it should not be him we will still have a governor from lower Fairfield County. If it’s Dan I’ll be able to work with him. “
