This will be Obama’s first visit to Connecticut since the final Sunday before last November’s midterm election, when he campaigned on behalf of Malloy in Bridgeport, the state’s most populous city and a Democratic stronghold.
Malloy, who went on to win a second term in a rematch against Republican Tom Foley, is slated to appear with Obama for the Coast Guard commencement, but not at the fundraiser because of a scheduling conflict.
