Gov. Dan Malloy’s victory lap was supposed to take the midterm election survivor to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on the eve of his second inaugural.
But a flight delay caused by wintry weather in the Northeast Tuesday has forced Malloy to scrap his travel plans.
For the first time since President Barack Obama campaigned for him in Bridgeport on Nov. 2 and helped to energize minority voters in the state’s most populous city, Malloy was due to meet with the commander-in-chief at the White House.
Malloy planned to visit Washington, D.C., for a meeting of the executive committee of the National Governors Association, which he serves on and whose members are scheduled to spend time with the president and Vice President Joe Biden.
Malloy will be sworn-in to a second term at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the state Armory in Hartford.
