Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, U.S. Sens Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, joined hundreds of people in St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church this morning for a two-hour mass remembering the 26 dead in Sandy Hook Elementary School one year ago today. The mass started at 9:30, around the time that Malloy had asked all churches in the state to ring their bells 26 times.
“It was somber and surreal,” said Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti, who attended the event.
