The state on Tuesday released a lengthy report analyzing the charitable response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook as well as a guide to making donations in the wake of disaster.
The report and guide come in response to complications that arose in the wake of the December 2012 shooting in managing and distributing the millions of dollars raised in a fair and equitable way.
Organizations that raised money after the shootings provided answers to a survey which the state then analyzed to seek out how state regulators can partner with the non-profit community to ensure transparency, coordination and donor confidence.
