Thx for the pointer, IT.
And yeah, Bob, like you, I have two or three spots that change every time, especially on D…
Mike,
As we discussed before, each time I think about this, my answers come out a little differently. Here is my vote as of this morning…
Kolnik, Krog, Hunter
The most successful unit in our most successful season. And Trent Hunter is a candidate for 5th Anniversary MVP.
Hamilton, Colley, Collins
I’ll take advantage of the special exemption you’ve granted me to place Hamilton on the left side here. The quintessential “Hamilton moment” for me is him firing a one-timer from the LW face-off circle so it doesn’t seem like a stretch to put him on that side. Please note, Kevin Colley wears the “C” on this team.
Torres, Mapletoft, Godard
This line includes a candidate for all time fan favorite in Godard, and my personal all time favorite Sound Tiger in Raffi Torres.
Bergenheim, Colliton, Nilsson
There were times when I thought this unit showed flashes of being the best BST line in the 5 years. Playoff success might have cemented that status but, unfortunately, it wasn’t there. Bergenheim is runner-up to Torres for my personal favorite and Colliton is probably the only forward on this team that may play additional games in the new team colors. I’m looking forward to watching his development in the future.
Extra Forward: Matt Koalska.
Defense:
Campoli, Gervais
What these two young players accomplished together in their first season here was remarkable. I wish I could see data on the ice time they logged in 04-05.
Mezei, Giroux
Giroux is a no-brainer and Mezei is one of the few candidates with size on the blueline.
Robinson, Nasreddine
Won’t put up many points for this team but every team needs some grit and character.
Extra Defenseman: Jarrett. Deserves the spot based on his years of service and versatility in playing any role the team asked of him.
Goal
Rick DiPietro – starter.
Wade Dubielewicz – back-up.
Steve Valiquette – game one scratch.
So there are my votes for now. Half an hour from now, I don’t know, I might feel differently.
Thanks! And enjoy your time compiling these responses……..
Mike, you have Alan Rourke listed as a free agennt. NHLPA updated his status for 06-07 and now has him listed as signed for 450k….
Looks like it was done after Poti was confirmed signed. Interesting considering how Poti-Bouchard signings push someone out of Grebeshkov-Gervais back to Bridgeport or force a trade, especially with Hlavardsson signed.
