our schedule has some good things. I’m sure Mike will do up a topic on it, so I will not offer to much. But we have several 3 in 3 at home.

ADVISORY: The AHL’s 2006-07 regular-season schedule will be released on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET, exclusively on theahl.com

Lokamotiv(sp?) apparently released Mikhnov and Taratuhkin. They are expected to go to the NHL but there is no agreement, maybe this signifies that a deal is in in theory agreed on.

Bergie wants a one way worth 750 000 and it sounds like he is pretty set on that. He also likes being close to home (russia is closer then the states). The team offered him a 500 000 one way but he wasn’t interested.

We will see, I will know more in a few days.

mike, off topic. I was watching an old islander-ranger game from 1975 on MSG and they were talking about the start time of the next game. It was a 9:06pm start!! WOW. Wonder why nobody in US got hooked on hockey

No, I definately don’t want Bergie to pack up and go off to Russia. I enjoy watching him, he’s got a good style about him. He makes good plays and is aggressive. I think if he goes off to Russia, we’ll be losing a good player.

    Assistant update
I talked to new Peoria head coach Dave Baseggio on Saturday. He coached at Bridgeport last season but was let go.

He told me that Lane Lambert, his Sound Tigers assistant coach, has applied for that position on the Crunch. Turns out that Lambert and Columbus head coach Gerard Gallant are good friends, and that Lambert was the best man at Gallant’s wedding.

I don’t know much about Baseggio or Lambert, but I do know they were highly acclaimed for the job they did last season. Bridgeport was devastated by injuries and still made the playoffs, pushing Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to seven games in the first round before losing. They were let go because the parent club Islanders changed management.

The list of Syracuse assistant candidates is supposed to be cut to five or six by Monday.

I agree. It’s not like Bergy was outstanding all the time. He had times, but not the superstar he thinks he is or can be. let him leave to Russia.

Mike, any word on Bill Mc? uniforms? Bags coaching staff? opening night date?
