Why doesn’t the Ct Post see how badly your needed in Moncton and send you to Islanders-Sound Tigers camp.

Your the best writer with the best information who outcovers Newsday far too often.

Doesn’t your sports editor see the city papers are not covering camp and this is an opporunity for the Ct Post to expand Islander coverage?

BTW, as long as we’re on Connecticut kids and little brothers of Sound Tigers: L.A. sent Jon Quick (Hamden) and Patrick Jarrett (Cole) to Manchester’s camp.

Mike, it was good to see you at today’s “Baby” Bruins/Devils game and thank you for all the updates of preseason.

I was not suprised in the least that Berry was one of the first players assigned to Springfield. Was a bit surprised about Rourke though.

  5. Fornabaio says:

    Yep, Colin McDonald’s hometown=Wethersfield…

And yep, Bryan Pitton=Jason’s younger brother…

    Hey Mike,

Question? On the Oilers link to the 1st players assigned to Springfield, on that list is Bryan Pitton….any relation to Jason?

Rourke & Berry among the first to be assigned to Springfield????
Per my blog on 9/12, absolutely NO surprise here!
They were two over-the-hill excess pieces of baggage. Berry took some of most stupid and ill-timed penalties (mostly holding & hooking). A few years ago, Berry played several games with the San Antonio Rampage (one of the worst teams in the AHL), and even they let him go! Now some younger, bigger, more talented & hungrier players can now fill those defensive positions and come to play EVERY night!
Chris Ellsbery wrote in today’s Post that someone told him that the reason the Soundtigers did not choose to play an exhibition game at the Wonderland Of Ice was because of it’s seating capacity. If that is true, it IS an oversight on the team’s part. Lisa Fedick and the Ferguson Brothers (Mike & John) would have organized a wonderful event, as they ALWAYS do. They do an immense amount of fundraising for numerous events (among them Travis Roy Foundation and Hockey Fights Cancer). An exhibition could have been used to help support an event like that. But my question is: The older W.O.I. facility has recently been under extensive renovation, and would it have been ready in time for an exhibition event? Hopefully, do one next year.

Also sent down to Springfield was Colin McDonald, who’s from somewhere in CT (I forget where).
