    wilson was born in greenwich, but apparently he grew up winnipeg. he’s a solid player, but i expect him to go somewhere between 10 and 12

    come to think about it, from a marketing standpoint, the guy would be a hit playing for the Sound Tigers. he’s from Fairfield County, so he’s bound to get a ton of family and friends in the seats.

    Wilson’s not a bad player. He would be extremely overrated at the 5th pick…and he’s the son of a former Ranger (ugh).

    Posting anonymously here is as wimpy as it gets, especially if you post directly to a person or in response.

    I don’t need to justify myself to a spineless Anon poster, but I believe I said “If it’s true…” I didn’t claim to know anything for sure, but Greg Logan’s article for Newsday indicates that was a potential cause (just so no one thinks I came up with it on my own). And I didn’t realize that I had used the “disgrace card” before. I’m just not a fan of a team (or company for that matter) that practices nepotism. It rarely leads to success.

    All due respect but you do not know what happened regarding Mr Botta?

    Once again here you go with the disgrace card, why can’t you just thank the man for his hard work and if something along those lines is said by the club or Mr Botta then tee off at them?

    With the 5th pick the islanders select Colin Wilson.I can hear it coming.
    If the Isles pick Wilson at 5 i may lose it.I am not saying Wilson is not good but there is better at 5 unless u trade down and add another first round pick.
    Filatov or Pietrangelo is who i expect them to pick.

    The Botta news is a really bad thing for the Islanders. This guy had it all and he embraced the internet like almost no other team in the league. If it’s true that he was being pushed out by Wang’s son-in-law then it truly is yet another reason that this organization is a disgrace. From hiring a guy to coach your AHL prospects who had never even coached mites to losing a guy with 20 years experience in media relations to promote a family member, I wonder if it can possibly get worse.

    Oh… and if they plan on replacing Brennan with this no talent guy from Albany then it’s another confirmation that Snow’s got zero ability to put together a team. Not that goons make your team that much better, but if you can’t even figure out which good makes more sense for your team then I can only imagine how he’s going to screw up the 5th overall pick.
