Brennan not coming back, not a surprise to me.
My brother and I have a theory for reiger.
When he makes a bonehead play his name is Reiger(Ree-ger)
When he plays well he is known as (Ree-jey).A model French canadian player.Yes I know he isnt French Canadian.
Other than that, we have an OK team that is a player or two away from being extremely competitive.
I saw hillen in his NHL debut against the Rangers. Nothing special, but will make a positive impact on this team.
I love Regier, Walter, and Colliton, but I don’t think they’ll make the NHL team. If they do, they’ll have a Jeff Tambellini/Sean Bergenheim 2 years ago type year of going up and down. The Isles have too many guys coming back. My count says the Isles will have Comrie, Guerin, Sillinger, Okposo, Neilsen, Comeau, Tamby, Bergenheim, Sim, Hunter, Hilbert and Bates all either a.) under contract for next year or b.) an RFA that they have already expressed interest in keeping. A positive for us is that because the Isles don’t have enough roster spots, and they do want to rebuild next year, then they’ll have to trade some players for AHL prospects. Sure, Guerin, Sillinger, Bates, and some of the other vets on the team aren’t going to fetch top prospects, but I bet Snow can get some guys like Matt Keith who will be solid players for the vets on the Islanders.
And forget about a GOOD established #1 AHL goalie down here. Those guys are looking for a team where they can have an opportunity to make the NHL team, and from what I’ve heard from Snow, Joey Mac basically has the backup role locked up.
These are the players under contract for next season.I am leaving off J.Mac,Okposo,Comeau,Tambellini,Nielson.
D
Wotton-Ugh,atleast he is a nice guy
Fraser-good offensive D-man,average defensively
Kohn-Overall good if he stays healthy
Hillen-Offensively talented,Hows his d?
Mcdonald-He was terrible in his time in bport
F
Bentivoglio-Not a favorite of mine
Pitton-Plays hard all the time
Hennigar-?The ahl`s Dale Hawerchuck we hope
Joenesu-A tree in front
Smith-My favorite overall player
Rechlicz-Tougher version of Morency
Jackman-Solid leader
RFA- Colliton,Fata, Mole,Regier,Walter
Tier 4-Spiller,Keith
The Defense is very weak looking if these 5 are in Bport next year.Who will be number 6?
I will be ok with dumping Mcdonald ,bringing back Fata and Spiller or A.Johnson
I think Walter and Colliton may make the Islanders but i would like to c him back in bport.Maybe Reiger for a PK guy. That could be a very solid nucleus at F.Bring in 1 UFA studd Offensive F and Morency as your 12th.
I would like to see a GOOD established number 1 goalie here in the port next year. Then maybe a Morrison type to back up whoever.
Cincy beat Las Vegas 4-0. Takes a 3-2 series lead in the Kelly Cup. David Desharnais assisted on all 4 goals and he earned the 1 star of the game. Series heads back to Cincy on Thursday.
