    We have not heard a lot about Smith and yet he led the Tigers in scoring in the last half….could he be the big surprise this year?

    Nikiforov is on an AHL deal. It was mentioned only in passing a couple of weeks ago.

    Mr Fornabaio,

    Arthur Staple reported in Newsday today Vladimir Nikiforov was invited to this weeks rookie camp but then wrote he’s on a two-way minor-league contract with the Isles, so he may end up in Bridgeport or Utah.

    Is he in fact signed or not signed? No report I can find he is under contract to Utah, Bridgeport or New York.
