Of course Christian is no ordinary 8 year old hockey researcher. He’s got the new 2009-10 AHL Guide and Record Book (electronic version) on his Mac, but he was quick to tell me that the guide has lineups, but no jersey numbers. Then he went through the old boxscores on theAHL.com until he found Hnat and Tomas.

  2. Clutch work by Christian.

Don’t think I’d heard Hnat Domenichelli’s name mentioned in about five years, and then he popped up twice in a day.

  3. Andy says:

Domenichelli and Malec. Had to go to Christian to do the research for me so he gets the credit.

  4. Yep, there’s the three. Ogorodnikov, McLean and (with the recycled numbers at the end) Gratchev.

Now, somebody come through with Jason’s answer.

  5. Jeff S says:

Kurtis McClean and Max Gratchev were last year

  6. Second, third, whatever, they’re always good ones.
    Dave: Nope, not Smith: 45.

  7. Dave says:

    Smith in his rookie year?

  8. Jason C. says:

Long-time reader, first-time commenter (maybe second-time). Straying off topic slightly, Katic will be the third player ever to wear #71 in the AHL All-Star Game… The other two are a former Sound Tiger (although he didn’t wear 71 in Bridgeport) and a former Hartford Whaler.

  9. Miriam says:

Because it was bothering me who the other one was, I had to search it. But I won’t say anything. Maybe someone else will remember it.=)

  10. Not Rank, but you are right on the other two.

  11. Miriam says:

Kurtis McLean, Sergei Ogorodnikov, and….Kyle Rank? I’m sure of the first two…
